Thursday Night Football: Matt Moore Looks To Secure The Dolphins Starting Job Long-Term

Miami Dolphins (4-2) at Baltimore Ravens (3-4)

News of the Game:

Matt Moore gets the start over an injured Jay Cutler, looking to retain the starting job for the remainder of the season. The Dolphins are on a three-game win streak, while the Ravens have lost four straight after starting the season 3-0.

Players to Watch:

Miami linebacker Lawrence Timmons

Baltimore halfback Alex Collins

What have they done?

Following a drama-filled Week 1 saga, Timmons has been a star for the Dolphins defense. He has 24 combined tackles and two passes deflected. Collins is the 17th best running back in the NFL. He has carried the ball 62 times for 365 yards and currently ranks first in yards per carry with 5.9. Timmons is looking to record his first sack of the season against a shoddy Baltimore offensive line. Collins was featured on CBS Evening News this week, where he discussed how Irish dancing has helped his career get back on track (he was released by the Seahawks this offseason). Collins should be able to find some room to run, despite his hometown team’s 10th ranked run defense.

Key Injury News:

Miami wide receiver DeVante Parker is out for the third straight week with an ankle injury.

Baltimore wide receiver Jeremy Maclin will start for the Ravens after missing Weeks 6 and 7 to a shoulder injury.

Predictions:

Jarrett: Dolphins 24-17 Ravens (MIA +7)

Jack: Dolphins 21-16 Ravens (MIA +5)
