KrackenJack’s 2023 NBA Mock Draft

This is @KrackenJack’s annual NBA Mock Draft. This mock was meticulously created on and before 06/19/23. Any trades after this date have not been reflected in this Mock Draft.

1 | San Antonio Spurs

Victor Wembanyama | C | Metropolitans 92

Unlike last year, there should be no surprises here. Wemby lands with the perfect coach to develop his unique talents.

2 | Charlotte Hornets

Brandon Miller | SF | Alabama

The Hornets find a replacement for Miles Bridges. One that has high-end outside scoring and certainly has less baggage… right?

3 | Portland Trail Blazers

Scoot Henderson | PG | G League Ignite

Hard to believe that the Blazers retain this pick or use it on another guard given their depth at the position. That being said, Henderson is considered the best available prospect at this point and could immediately headline the Blazers’ second unit.

4 | Houston Rockets

Amen Thompson | PG/SG | Overtime Elite

The first of the Thompson twins lands in Houston to pair with Jalen Green in the backcourt while acting as a high-level facilitator.

5 | Detroit Pistons

Taylor Hendricks | PF | UCF

Hendricks is the full package;  big, young, athletic, talented on defense, and the best shooting big man not named Wembanyama. Ausar Thompson reportedly has fans in the front office, but the talent and potential of Hendricks may  be too much to  pass.

6 | Orlando Magic

Ausar Thompson | SG/SF | Overtime Elite

The other Thompson twin could provide the Magic with a high-level athletic wing defender who could complement budding stars Franz Wagner and Paulo Banchero with his passing skills.

7 | Indiana Pacers

Cam Whitmore | SF | Villanova

Buddy Hield has been a constant name in trade rumors, and adding Whitmore could give the Pacers the opportunity to explore these opportunities in earnest, while developing their young forward.

8 | Washington Wizards

Kobe Bufkin | SG | Michigan

With Beal on his way to Phoenix and Kuzma opting out, the Wizards appear to be entering a full rebuild. This would be a massive swing for Washington here, but Bufkin is one of the youngest players in the draft so he has time to develop his immense potential and could learn a lot from future Hall of Famer CP3, if he sticks around.

9 | Utah Jazz

Gradey Dick | SF | Kansas

The Jazz struggled from deep last season, while Gradey Dick shot just over 40% from beyond the arc in college and would provide an immediate boost in that department,

10 | Dallas Mavericks

Jarace Walker | PF | Houston

Walker is a high-potential big man that could help stabilize the Dallas frontcourt while Luka Doncic and (presumably) Kyrie Irving wreak havoc in the backcourt.

11 | Orlando Magic

Dereck Lively II | C | Duke

12 | Oklahoma City Thunder

Bilal Coulibaly | SF | Metropolitans 92

13 | Toronto Raptors

Cason Wallace | PG | Kentucky

14 | New Orleans Pelicans

Nick Smith Jr. | PG | Arkansas

15 | Atlanta Falcons

Anthony Black | SG | Arkansas

16 | Utah Jazz

Jordan Hawkins | SG | UCONN

17 | Los Angeles Lakers

Keyonte George | SG | Baylor

18 | Miami Heat

Jett Howard | SG | Michigan

19 | Golden State Warriors

Brice Sensabaugh | SF | Ohio State

20 | Houston Rockets

Leonard Miller | SF | G League Ignite

21 | Brooklyn Nets

Jalen Hood-Schifino | PG | Indiana

22 | Brooklyn Nets

Kris Murray | PF | Iowa

23 | Portland Trail Blazers

GG Jackson | PF | South Carolina

24 | Sacramento Kings

James Nnaji | C | Barcelona

25 | Boston Celtics

Brandon Podziemski | SG | Santa Clara

26 | Indiana Pacers

Noah Clowney | PF | Alabama

27 | Charlotte Hornets

Dariq Whitehead | SG | Duke

28 | Utah Jazz

Trayce Jackson-Davis | PF | Indiana

29 | Denver Nuggets

Rayan Rupert | SG | NZ Breakers

30 | Los Angeles Clippers

Colby Jones | SG | Xavier
